Gillian is a consultant Radiation Oncologist with a sub-specialty interest in the treatment of breast cancer. After completing her Radiation Oncology specialty training at St Vincent’s and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals in Sydney, Gillian undertook a fellowship at the St Vincent’s/ Garvan Research Institute into the molecular sub-typing of breast cancers and radiation resistance/sensitivity genes.
She is inaugural Chair of BIG-FRO (2014), the Breast Interest Group- Faculty of Radiation Oncology Australia and New Zealand.
Gillian is a senior staff specialist in Radiation Oncology at the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital and also has VMO appointments at North Shore Private Hospital and the Mater Hospital, North Sydney. She is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney and a member of the Australasian Society of Breast Disease and the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group. She is a member of the Strategic Advisory Group for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Gillian is actively involved in quality assurance/audit programs and clinical trials, and is Principal Investigator on a number of breast cancer trials at the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre. She is also involved with teaching and lecturing medical students at the Northern Clinical School.
Gillian is passionate about patient-centred care and the delivery of high quality treatments through state-of-the-art and innovative radiotherapy techniques for breast cancer.
