Dr. Gihan Gunawardena MBBS / FRACGP / DRANZCOG(adv.) has obtained the MBBS degree from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2001 and worked as a Clinician / University Lecturer and GP before moving to Australia in 2005 to read for his PhD. After engaging in research for a year plus teaching at Uni of QLD and working for Queensland health for 5 yrs in most sub specialties including Obstetrics, ICU and anesthetics, he entered GP training with CSQTC (now GPTQ) in 2011 and completed GP training in 2013 and went back to QLD health for the advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Anesthetics and currently working as a GP Obstetrician / ED doctor at Beaudesert hospital. Gihan has worked both in Urban and Rural and remote Australia in hospitals, general practice and Universities.
