Dr Bertsos graduated from University of Queensland in 1972. He was an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar at Gold Coast Hospital and Mater Mothers in Brisbane before going into general practice in Southport in 1977. Dr Bertsos moved to Pindara Medical Centre in 1984, and then on to Sanctuary Cove in 1987. He amalgamated his practice with Riverside at Nerang in 1999 before moving to Mermaid Central in 2004.
