Dr Geoffrey Reid is able to offer genuine empathy to people facing the challenge of infertility as he, together with his wife, Genea Fertility Specialist Hilary Joyce, experienced his own IVF journey. Geoff and Hilary have one beautiful daughter, who is now in her twenties.
Geoffrey and Hilary are Genea’s only husband and wife team, seeing patients in Sydney’s CBD, as well as South West Sydney and the Southern Highlands. He has been caring for couples having problems conceiving for more than 25 years and patients appreciate his professional and caring manner.
Geoff graduated from Monash University in 1975 and spent four interesting years with the Royal Australian Air Force as a Medical Officer before completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
He spent three years in the United Kingdom, as Lecturer with the University of Manchester and then returned to practice in Australia.
He is Director of Gynaecological Endoscopy at Liverpool Hospital, and has appointments at St Luke’s Hospital, Potts Point; St George Private Hospital, Kogarah; Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Randwick; and Southern Highlands Private Hospital in Bowral.
Geoffrey is a past Board Member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgical Society, a member of the World Endometriosis Society, a member of the Indian Endometriosis Society, a member of the American Association of Gynaecological Laparoscopists, a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, a member of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology and a member of the International Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.
He has been an invited lecturer and surgeon in many countries including China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and the Czech Republic. Geoff’s major interest is challenging infertility, for any patient, but especially those with endometriosis – a highly complex field of medicine requiring specialist and expert care. Not all patients with endometriosis will require surgery, but where this is the best option, Geoff is unique in providing both surgical care and IVF.
