Dr Gottschalk is originally from Cape Town, South Africa. He obtained his MBChB at the University of Cape Town in 1995. After gaining experience in Internal Medicine both in South Africa and the United Kingdom, he achieved the Higher Diploma in Internal Medicine (South Africa) in 1999. He then spent a year gaining some molecular and cell biology laboratory experience, before embarking on his specialist dermatology training in Cape Town. He obtained his Fellowship of the College of Dermatology (South Africa) in 2004.
Dr Gottschalk then worked full time at Red Cross Children’s and Groote Schuur Hospitals in Cape Town, including both paediatric and adult dermatology, before establishing a private practice. In 2009 he migrated to Australia with his family. He became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2010.
Dr Gottschalk consults and operates at Chatswood Dermatology Centre as director and consultant dermatologist. He is a general dermatologist with broad interests across the full spectrum of skin pathology. He enjoys managing both adults and children and has a keen interest in the medical and surgical management of skin cancers.
