Dr Malkanthi Hewage (Malki) obtained her MBBS from Sri Lanka in 1995 and has worked as a full time General Medical Practitioner since then. She has previously worked in Anaesthetics as well as in General Practice in Sri Lanka.
Dr Hewage migrated to Australia with her family in 2008. Since then she has worked at Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, Logan Hospital and The Tweed Hospital.
Dr Hewage has obtained her Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine through the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Chapter of Palliative Medicine in 2014. She also completed a Skin Cancer Certificate through the University of Queensland in 2016.
Malki is interested in all aspects of General Practice and is quite passionate about chronic disease management, pain management, palliative care, women’s health and mental health.
Her other interests are music, home décor and gardening.
