Originally from Ireland where he was the first male to study Speech Pathology, Fergus came to WA to work at RPH in 1990 before entering medical school in 1997 at Flinders University in Adelaide. There he was awarded an honours degree for sustained academic excellence, as well as 'The Priestly Clinical Prize', the 'Paediatric Prize' and was short listed for 'Staff Prizes' in Medicine, Surgery and General Practice and achieved a ranking of 'First' for his appointment as an Intern in Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. Following his Internship he moved back to WA where he worked in Fremantle Hospital and entered the Physicians training program discovering a specific interest in infectious diseases before moving back to Dublin Ireland for nine years to work in the HIV Addiction Service. He returned to Australia to commence his General Practice Training with WAGPET in 2013, completing his FRACGP in 2014 where he shared the WAGPET Registrar of the Year Award. Special Interests Include:  Hypertension, Heart Disease, Diabetes and Chronic Disease Management, Paediatrics, Infectious Disease/ HIV / Sexual Health & Travel Medicine
