Originally from the UK, Emma completed a degree in Biology and Human Biology at Oxford Brookes University, before going on to read Medicine at the University of Southampton (graduating in December 2006). She then completed her foundation 1 (intern) year at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital before moving to Australia in February 2008 – first settling in New South Wales, before moving to Queensland in 2011. Emma has always had a passion for teaching - besides regularly teaching medical students in the hospital environment throughout her career, she has worked as a casual lecturer with paramedic students at CQU, and is currently a tutor for fourth year medical students at James Cook University. Emma has a strong background in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is currently in her fifth year as a trainee with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists – Having worked as a registrar at The Townsville Hospital, The Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital and The Cairns Hospital, she is now completing her training in a private practice with local Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Dr Elizabeth Jackson. Emma is thrilled to be part of the Northern Urology team, and to have the opportunity to further explore an interest in Urogynaecology.
