Elizabeth graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982, and completed her intern years at the Mater Hospital. Following 5 years of extensive paediatric experience in both Queensland and New South Wales Elizabeth entered General Practice, and as been active as a clinician in her community for over 20 years. She was awarded her FRACGP in 2000. Elizabeth also has a particular interest in aged care and chronic illness, and works to improve the quality of life in community care. She has been actively involved in the teaching of medical students over the years, and continues to hold current alignment with the Mater Mothers Hospital for shared maternity care. Elizabeth has three grown sons and is devoted to her family, friends and community life.
