Dr Elaine Wong is a consultant ophalmologist, proficient in both adult and paediatric ophthalmology, with a sub-specialisation in strabismus, or squint. Elaine was educated in Melbourne and graduated with honours in Medicine from Melbourne University. Upon completion of internship and residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Elaine undertook a Masters of Public Health, primarily focussing on indiginous eye care. She subsequently specialised in Ophthalmology as a registrar at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and then completed her Ocular-Motility fellowship also at the RVEEH. Elaine currently works in private practice and as a consultant ophthalmologist at both the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital where she also tutors the ophthalmic registrars. Elaine continues to be actively involved in eye care research and education within the community, both as a consultant and in her role as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Eye Research Australia. Elaine presents her research and papers at various international conferences.
