Don and his wife Jennifer are the owners of The Newcastle Paediatric Clinic. He is a General Paediatrician with an interest in paediatric endocrinology. Don has acquired extensive experience in inpatient and outpatient General Paediatrics in Newcastle, since his initial hospital appointment as a consultant and opening his own practice in 1984. He now has dual appointments to John Hunter Children's Hospital as General Paediatrician and Paediatric Endocrinologist. He previously was the Director of Paediatric Physician Training. For many years he has been clinical lecturer at Newcastle University and up to 2012 he contributed to the neonatal on call service at Newcastle Private Hospital. In this clinic he accepts referrals for a broad range of paediatric health problems but at John Hunter his public clinic is restricted to paediatric endocrinology. His research interest is in using IT to develop innovative ways to improve the care of children and adolescents with diabetes. He lives in Newcastle and has three adult children.
