Dr. Azar is a specialist cataract surgeon with considerable expertise in all aspects of cataract surgery as well as the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and eyelid disorders. Dr. Azar is fluent in Arabic.
Dr. Azar is the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney, and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Sydney Medical School, The University of Sydney.
Dr. Azar teaches current and future cataract surgeons advanced techniques and approaches to managing routine and complex cataract surgical challenges. He is also internationally-recognised in the area of cataract surgery and has extended his teaching to the international arena.
