Dr Diana Makeran is from the Pacific Islands and has been a GP for over 10 years. She gained her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2002. While working at Starship Auckland hospital and Middlemore hospital, Dr Makeran completed a Diploma of Paediatrics at Auckland University. During her training & her holidays, she would volunteer her time in the islands medical clinics. In 2005 she passed her exams for the Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. In addition, Dr Makeran worked as a Medical Superintendent in Cherbourg Hospital, an Indigenous community in 2007. Dr Makeran also completed her Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 2012. More recently, Dr Makeran has assisted Gynaecologist Dr Bev Powell and is experienced in Mirena insertion. Dr Makeran is very passionate in improving Pacific Island health and those in need. She was a Kiribati Community President and member of the Pacific Island Association. Dr Makeran is a caring, sincere and empathetic doctor. She treats her patients holistic going the extra mile and treating each patient as an individual. The "highest patient satisfaction" is her goal.
