Dr. Singh is a general adult psychiatrist with special training in psychodynamic psychotherapy & CBT. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and did his training in Psychiatry from London, Basic Specialist Training from University College London rotation and Higher Specialist Training from Barts and East London rotation. He obtained his Membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2006 and got his Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) from UK in 2010.
He has worked in a variety of settings and has more than 14 years of experience in managing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. The clinical topics of special interest to him range from use of mental health act to management of difficult to treat anxiety disorders, mood disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, eating disorders and personality disorders. He is committed to the use of evidence-based interventions and management and uses his expertise to tailor his treatment according to the needs of the client. He is a member of a CPD group and regularly participates in peer group meetings which provide a forum for reflective practice.
He has extensive research interest and has published papers on trends in the appeal of the mental health act, cost awareness of psychotropic drugs (The Psychiatrist, Journal of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK) and service innovation (Journal of Psychiatric administration and Management, official publication of the American Association of Psychiatric Administrators). Dr. Singh is currently employed as a consultant psychiatrist at Queensland Health, Metro South Health Service in Redlands and works both in inpatient and community settings. He has keen interest in Medical Education and is a Senior Lecturer at School of clinical medicine-PAH-Southside clinical unit. He is actively involved in medical education and also supervises psychiatry registrars.
