Dersiree joined the BMC Team in January 2016, although Des has been a resident of the Kimberley & Pilbara regions for the past 10years. Des spent 3years working at Broome Hospital in the Emergency Department and Obstetrics before moving to Karratha to pursue additional training over the past 6years. Des has now returned to her home in Broome that she shares with husband “Tavs” and their two gorgeous little boys Nathaniel & Reuben. Des also works as a Senior Lecturer at the Rural Clinical School (Notre Dame University – Broome Campus) where she is heavily involved in the training of final year Medical Students who have a 12month training term in Broome. Des has special interests in Mental Health, Child and Adolescent health - as well as Women’s Health - (including shared care Obstetrics up to 36weeks). Des can often be found busily spending time in her garden – as well as enjoying the magnificient Broome “Sunsets & Family Beachtime” on Cable Beach.
