We’ve been delighted to have Dr Derek Manderson at Albany Clinic since 2015. Derek graduated in 1997 from University of Queensland, and practised widely across QLD and the UK before settling in the Albany Creek area. Derek has an avid interest in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, and is currently furthering his knowledge through a Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine and Skin Cancer Surgery. Derek performs full skin examinations, advises on suitable treatments for skin cancer and sun damage, and performs primary care based excisions, and is also able to refer to suitably qualified specialists for more advanced surgery or treatments. Aviation medicine is becoming a more prominent part of Derek’s practice. He’s received the Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine (ACCAM) through Monash University and performs medicals for private pilots, professional pilots and air traffic controllers. Derek is a member of the Australian Aerospace Medicine Society and enjoys attending their annual conferences. Outside of the clinic, Derek enjoys camping, travelling and watching his two children grow up… slowly
