Dr McDonald is a Sunshine Coast local who first became a Registered Nurse before completing a teaching degree. Then having decided upon medicine as her preferred career path Dr McDonald dedicated herself to General Practice. She has been practicing on the Sunshine Coast for over 16 years.
Dr McDonald is passionate about being a family doctor. She has an interest in all aspects of General Practice from antenatal care to aged care, from travel medicine to skin checks and treatment of skin lesions.
She worked as an examiner with the Royal Australian College of General Practice for 10 years. Now she enjoys her role as a GP Registrar supervisor - educating, mentoring and supporting the next generation of doctors.
Outside of work Dr McDonald enjoys spending quality time with her extended family.
