Dr Whalley is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiology at the University of Sydney and has been a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist for 16 years. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias using electrophysiological studies and catheter ablation techniques. He has performed over 8000 electrophysiological procedures encompassing the full range of arrhythmias including SVT, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He has over 20 years experience with implantable pacemakers and defibrillators.

He also performs diagnostic coronary angiography, reports and performs echocardiograms and transoesophageal echocardiography and has a particular interest in the investigation and management of syncope. He has undertaken research in cardiac cellular electrophysiology and has been an investigator in several multicentre research trials investigating new antiarrhythmic drugs.
