Assoc Prof Pennington was formerly the Head of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He was well-known as the surgeon who operated on the Kenyan boy, Safari, in the TV series 'RPA', in 2001. Prof Pennington has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles on a wide range of surgical topics in the Scientific Literature. Prof Pennington retired from active clinical practice in 2015, and now acts as an expert witness in medico-legal matters involving Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery. He provides unbiased expert medical assessment of injuries resulting from public liability, medical negligence and NSW CTP claims in the fields of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery as well as Hand Surgery.
