Prof Brian Jones graduated from St Marys Hospital London, and completed gastroenterology training in the UK. He was awarded a MD by thesis for research in hepatic pharmacology from the University of Melbourne. Prof Jones pursued further studies at McMaster University, Canada, and the Liver Diseases Section, National Institutes of Health, USA.
Prof Jones has published over one hundred scientific papers and chapters in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and is a previous recipient of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia’s Young Investigator Award, and the inaugural Distinguished Clinician Award.
His main clinical interests are Endoscopic Ultrasound, Liver Disease and Postgraduate Training in Gastroenterology.
Prof Jones is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the British Society of Gastroenterology. He is accredited for gastroscopy, colonoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
