Dr David Benjamin graduated from Sydney University Medical School in 1958 and did his internship at Royal North Shore Hospital before going overseas in 1961 for eye specialist training at the Royal Eye Hospital London and Surrey where he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ophthalmology). On his return to Australia in 1970, he commenced practice in the eastern suburbs and became an honorary visiting medical officer at the Prince of Wales Hospital. In 1997 he joined the MetWest Eye Centre as a general ophthalmologist reviewing patients with a wide range of eye conditions and also attend to ocular emergencies on Friday afternoons.
