Dr Daryl Stephens (Urologist)
Dr Stephens specialises in urology. He completed his medical university training at Melbourne University, followed by his training in surgery in Melbourne for five years, then in Adelaide for Urology and later in the United Kingdom for five years.
Dr Stephens was born in Rural Central Victoria and lived in various places around Victoria, mainly involved with sheep farming. Dr Stephens commenced practice in Urology in rural Victoria (Ballarat) in 1994. Five years later he returned to the United Kingdom to work as a consultant at the London Institute of Urology and returned to Australia to practice Perth.
Dr Stephens commences public practice in Mackay. He is a general urologist and caters for all fields of urology from fertility to trauma. However, his particular interest is in prostate cancer. Dr Stephens has done over 1500 radical prostatectomies and has set up a biopsy and operative service for prostate cancer at Mackay Base Hospital.
