Darren is an experienced Colorectal Surgeon who has been trained in the full range of open and laparoscopic techniques. He returned from the UK in 2007, having completed the final year of his Colorectal Fellowship at St Marks Hospital in London, to take up a consultant position both in private practice, and on the Colorectal Unit at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Darren graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1997 and completed his Advanced Surgical Training in 2004, working within many of the major public hospitals in Adelaide. Having started his Colorectal Fellowship at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2005, Darren completed subspecialty training in 2007. Darren commenced as a Consulting Surgeon at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Colorectal Unit in 2008.
Darren has interests in laparoscopic & open colorectal surgery, pouch surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and polyposis, the surgical management of intestinal failure and enterocutaneous fistula, laparoscopic and open hernia repair, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction techniques. He offers Easy Access services in endoscopy, colonoscopy and infusaport insertion (for suitable patients).
