Dr Daniel Lane is a general Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interests in hip and knee arthroplasty and knee arthroscopic surgery. He also has an interest in foot and ankle surgery. He has been in private practice as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2001.
Dr Lane graduated from the University of Queensland in 1984 completing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He spent the next seven years in hospital general surgery and orthopaedic training in Queensland and the UK before commencing 4 years of formal Orthopaedic Surgery Training in Queensland.
He gained a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedics in 1996 and also a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
He subsequently underwent a further postgraduate orthopaedic hip fellowship at the prestigious Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Hospital in Exeter. Dr Lane also did an Orthopaedic foot and ankle fellowship in Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge. At Addenbrooke he gained further orthopaedic shoulder surgical experience.
He returned to Australia in 1998 and took up the position of Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Nambour General Hospital. Dr Daniel Lane continued as a Visiting Orthopaedic Consultant at Nambour General Hospital from 2002 until 2008.
