Prof Dan Chambers is a General and Transplant Thoracic Physician interested in all aspects of Respiratory Medicine. His areas of particular expertise include chronic cough, asthma, interstitial lung disease, advanced lung disease, bronchiectasis and lung transplantation.
Dan graduated from the University of Queensland with a University Medal and completed his residency at the Mater Hospitals before undertaking his physician training in both internal and respiratory medicine in the United Kingdom. There he obtained an MD from the University of Birmingham and gained extensive experience in general and advanced lung disease, severe asthma, cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation.
On return to Australia, Dan was one of the founding physicians of the new Western Australian lung transplant program and worked for 5 years at the Royal Perth and St John of God Hospitals as a general thoracic and transplant physician. He returned to Queensland to work at the Prince Charles Hospital in 2008. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and sits on the Pulmonary Council and Programming Committee of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, as well as the Scientific and Research Committees of the Transplantation and Thoracic Societies of Australia and New Zealand.
