After completing undergraduate studies at UNSW and St Vincent's Hospital, I was appointed at Concord Hospital for intern and resident years. My long affiliation with Westmead Hospital began in 2000, when I was fortunate to gain a position as an accredited anaesthetic registrar. Many years of study, two fellowships and three children later, and with a brief detour to RPA, I was appointed a Staff Specialist in Intensive Care in August 2011. Additional roles include hospital medical director of organ and tissue donation at Westmead, jointly held by Dr Martin Cullen, and VMO anaesthetist at RPAH.
