Dr Damien O'Brien graduated from the University of Queensland in 1986. He undertook his basic Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital and performed locums in Sydney, Lismore and Coffs Harbour before commencing practice in Maroochydore in 1995. His main area of interest is in general ophthalmology, especially cataract and glaucoma surgery and medical retinal disease. In association with Dr Ken Wishaw and Deborah Billington RN, he has been involved in a trial of peri-bulbar morphine for analgesia following pterygium excision. Dr O'Brien consults and operates on a regular basis at Maroochydore and Gympie.
