Dr Damien Cavanagh has long been a local of the Cairns / Atherton Tableland Region.

Dr Cavanagh returned from South East Queensland in 2009 to pursue training & working in General Practice.

He has had 7 years experience in General Emergency Medicine, General Surgical Assisting, Acute Coronary care and Private Intensive Care in Queensland Public & Private Hospitals. ​ Dr Cavanagh also has 5 years’ experienced training in General Practice – and wishes to continue working in this area, in particular mental health & adolescent well-being.

Dr Cavanagh is not only a keen Cairns Squash and Atherton Cricket player; but also a modest athlete as he participates in endurance events such as the 180 km Port Douglas “KIND” Jungle Ride (road cycling) & the UTA 100 km hiking in the Blue Mountains.

He is also often involved in musical theatre and has been found on stage with the Cairns Choral Society, Clink Theatre in Port Douglas and numerous performances with the Malanda Theatre Company.

Dr Cavanagh is very happy about being a part of the Trinity Family GP Team and looks forward to providing up-to-date & holistic patient care in the Northern Beaches region.
