Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist

Dr Cuong Nguyen graduated from the University of Adelaide and initially trained in internal medicine at the Queen Elizabeth and Lyell McEwin Hospitals, South Australia. He completed his Cardiology Training at the Launceston General and Royal Hobart Hospitals in Tasmania and was awarded his Fellowship to Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. Following this he undertook subspecialty training with a two year clinical Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Launceston General Hospital and Westmead Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Nguyen commenced private practice in 2010 in Sydney as a Clinical and Interventional cardiologist and was a Consultant VMO at Macquarie University Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and the Strathfield Private Hospital. He was also appointed a Clinical Lecturer at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University, NSW.

His clinical interests include general adult cardiology, ischaemic heart disease and coronary intervention. Dr Nguyen now consults regularly at Calvary Wakefield Clinic, Mt Barker and Mt Gambier Clinics and performs coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention at the Calvary Wakefield. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
