Dr Craig Mattern completed his training as the first graduating cohort from Western Sydney University School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his internship and residency and St George and Sutherland Hospitals and was first introduced to PFMC as a hospital doctor on rotation in 2013. He was then posted to Brisbane where he completed his FRACGP in 2016.

He is passionate about sports medicine and is currently completing a PostGraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine through the University of Otago. He is a current serving full-time member of the Australian Army employed as a Medical Officer and is the currently appointed team doctor for the Men and Women’s Australian Army and combined ADF Rugby League teams. He is also a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and can complete Pilot medicals.

He has a young family with his baby daughter Arabella a popular PFMC member!
