Dr Craig Costello is Neurologist, specialising in Neurology, with special interests in Epilepsy, neurophysiology (EEG/Nerve conduction studies).
He holds a MBBS FRACP.
Passionate about addressing the regional disparity in neurological services, Dr Craig Costello relocated back to North Queensland after completing his neurology specialist training in Melbourne. He started North Queensland Neurology in March 2012, offering consultative and neurodiagnostic services. Dr Costello graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003 and completed his early physician training at The Townsville Hospital. In 2009 he moved to Melbourne to focus on his speciality within two leading neurological departments at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Austin Hospital. Dr Costello's training afforded him extensive exposure to stroke, epilepsy and general neurology under leading specialists and allowed him to complete a neurophysiology fellowship to acquire specialist skills in EEG, nerve conduction studies and electromyography. Dr Costello is certified for Botox administration for neurological disorders such as cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, axillary hyperhydrosis (severe underarm sweating) and migraines. Dr Costello is the only local member and Deputy Chair of the Regional Neurology Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists. He is also chair of their workforce committee.
