Dr Costas K Yannakou attained his medical degree with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2008. He undertook specialist training in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and was awarded dual Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2017. He underwent further sub-specialty training in Molecular Haematology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where he is currently completing doctoral studies via the University of Melbourne in the field of massively parallel sequencing technology and its application in the evaluation of haematological malignancies.
Dr Yannakou is the Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Molecular Oncology and Cancer Immunology (MOCI) at Epworth Healthcare and holds a specialist appointment at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
