Dr. Colin Chan is an ophthalmic surgeon specializing in Corneal Surgery, Laser Eye Surgery and Cataract surgery.

He underwent ophthalmic surgery training at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital. He then completed a Fellowship in Corneal Surgery and Laser Eye Surgery at the Boxer Wachler Vision Institute in Beverly Hills, Los Angelesand at the University of California, Irvine, USA.
He was a Conjoint Associate Professor at UNSWfrom 2012-2015 and currently teaches at the University of Sydney as a Senior Clinical Lecturer. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters including a recent textbook on Dry eye treatment for which he was the Editor. He is invited numerous times every year to speak at international conferences including the World Ophthalmology Congress, the World Cornea Congress and the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology.
He was one of the first surgeons in the world to perform Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for Keratoconus and one of the first surgeons in the world to perform Laser Cataract Surgery.
He was awarded the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Achievement Award for scientific contributions and teaching to the region in 2015.
