Dr Claire Thompson was born in Millicent, attended school in Millicent and Mt Gambier and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1991. She completed general practice training in Adelaide, as well as placements in Millicent and at Cummins on the Eyre Peninsula. She subsequently worked in general practice in Darwin from 1996, before returning to Millicent in 1999. She has been on the Board of the Limestone Coast Division of General Practice since 2004, including roles as the Deputy Chair and is currently the Treasurer Claire is married with three children. She enjoys music, reading, movies (having a thorough knowledge of all animated films since 2001), gardening (although takes a rather “slash and burn” approach to horticulture) and travel (again, restricted to the local area since 2001 but looking forward to broadening her overseas horizons again in the future).
