I have been a clinical Cardiologist since 1994 working both in the public and private sector and am now in Private practice in Hunters Hill. Although born in Australia I did my schooling in Spain and London and then spent 3 years doing my BA in Physiology at Oxford University, England. I finished my clinical studies at St.Thomas’ Hospital, London, and obtained my membership (MRCP) with the Royal College of Physicians in London before coming back to Australia to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP). My Cardiology training was completed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then I spent 2 years doing research at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. I complemented this by completing the Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, DDU.

Having spent 10 years teaching and performing Coronary Angiography at Concord Hospital my work is now primarily in Private Practice at Hunters Hill spending most of my operating time at The Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga, where I also admit my non-surgical patients. I also have admitting rights at Strathfield Private Hospital and The Mater Hospital, North Sydney. I spent 16 years living in Spain, and am fluent in Spanish and have a small proportion of Spanish speaking patients.

Whilst I remain a general Clinical Cardiologist, I spend 2 days a week doing procedures in hospital. These include Angiography, Trans-oesophageal Echo’s, Pacemaker implantations and some Coronary Artery Intervention. However, my main interest is in preventative Cardiology with a special focus on Exercise to reduce cardiac risk and improve well being and I am looking to expand this area of my practice.

My interests away from work remain related to exercise and fitness and I continue to be very active playing competitive sport, Surf Ski racing and cycling. I have three young children and am heavily involved with their sport both as a spectator and a coach.
