Dr Beem graduated with his medical degree from University of Queensland in 1980.
Dr Chris Beem He was a Lieutenant in the Royal Australian Navy between 1983 and 1985 and was posted to a fleet as the assigned Medical Officer from July 1983 to December 1984. He went on to complete his residency at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital. He was awarded fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 1991
