Charlotte graduated in 2004 from the University of New South Wales. She completed her medical oncology training across St George, Prince of Wales and Wollongong hospitals, including clinics at the Riverina Cancer Care Centre. She was awarded her fellowship in Medical Oncology by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012.

She then completed a 4-year fellowship in London at a dedicated clinical trials facility, Sarah Cannon Research Institute UK. Here, she gained expertise in both phase I and later phase clinical trials across a spectrum of tumour streams and molecular targets, including immunotherapy. She also worked as part of the multidisciplinary team in genitourinary and breast cancers at University College London (UCL) Hospital. At the same time, she completed a clinical and laboratory based MD(res) at the UCL Cancer Institute with the study of biomarker development in endometrial cancer including circulating tumour cells and methylation studies.

She returned to Australia in 2015 and became the inaugural medical director of Scientia Clinical Research, a dedicated clinical trials facility in Sydney, within the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Prince of Wales Hospital. She has always enjoyed regional and rural practice and was committed to continuing this with her new role.
