Dr Chandra Diwakarla is a Medical Oncologist based at Fiona Stanley and Royal Perth hospitals having recently moved to WA from Canberra.

Prior to commencing her medical degree, Dr Diwakarla completed a science degree with honours in viral genetics at the University of Melbourne where she focused on vaccine development. Following this her passion for patient centred care drove her to pursue a medical degree through Sydney University. Since then, Dr Diwakarla has completed her fellowship training in medical oncology and has gained extensive experience in both tertiary and rural environments across the ACT, NSW and WA. She is currently under taking her PhD studies investigating the role of novel therapies for the management of aggressive forms of breast cancer through the Australian National University.

Currently Dr Diwakarla works at both Royal Perth and Fiona Stanley hospitals where she has a particular interest in junior medical staff mentoring and teaching. She is the WA representative for the Young Oncology Group of Australia (YOGA) which is a subset of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) and has been involved in treatment protocol development along with various quality assurance programs across the country. Dr Diwakarla is excited to be part of our new clinic and looks forward to establishing a supportive and caring environment where patient quality of life is the focus of care.

Dr Diwarkarla has a diverse range of experience in medical oncology with a sub-specialty interest in treating breast and gynaelogical cancers.
