Dr Cathie Forster (Cardiologist)

Dr Forster studied medicine in Sydney, graduating with Honours. She undertook her specialist cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital where she also had a year of dedicated training in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, left ventricular assist devices and pulmonary hypertension, with their associated interventional procedures. In addition, she completed a fellowship year at St Vincent’s Clinic in Echocardiography and Cardiac Investigations. During this time she co-authored several papers in these areas.

Dr Forster is a clinical cardiologist, with an interest in general cardiology, heart failure, hypertension and cardiac ultrasound including transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography. She is part of Peninsula Cardiology where she performs exercise stress and pharmacological stress echocardiograms for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease, and works at St Vincent’s clinic with consulting rooms and echocardiography.

Dr Forster enjoys teaching with ongoing procedural training of advanced trainees at St Vincent’s Clinic and delivering cardiology update talks to local General Practitioners. Dr Forster is involved in the Heart Foundation, aiming to promote awareness and prevention of heart disease and as a speaker for the Heart Foundation’s “Women and Heart Disease” initiative.
