Dr Cathy Thoo is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. She grew up on the North Shore having attended North Sydney Demonstration School and North Sydney Girls’ High School. She graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. She underwent many years training in general surgery in the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Area Health Service. She completed her Fellowship in Vascular Surgery and is a current fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). She is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery. Cathy is a consultant Vascular Surgeon at Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.
Throughout her career, she have been involved in teaching all levels of doctors, nursing and other allied medical staff. She is currently involved in the lecture program for the medical students at Sydney University and is also involved in the final preparation examinations for the part II fellowship in both vascular and general surgery.
Cathy has recently been recognised as an experienced proceduralist of peripheral interventions with the Conjoint committee with the College of Surgeons. She has a strong interest in aortic, carotid, dialysis access, kidney transplantation, lower limb peripheral arterial revascularisation as well as varicose veins.
