Caroline has just returned home to Cairns after spending 12 months working in a remote mining community in Central Qld. I am a proud Cairns local, having completed all my schooling here, I was then fortunate enough to be accepted into the first cohort to study medicine at James Cook University in Townsville. During my years at medical school I was able to complete placements throughout the Atherton tablelands, in Mt Isa and attended outreach clinics to Cape York. I completed my final two years at Cairns Base Hospital, gaining my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2005.
