Carol graduated form Adelaide University in 1985 and undertook specialist training for 4 years at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney from 1987 - 1990. She then left hospital work and joined a paediatric primary care practice in Western Sydney where she worked for 10 years. Carol moved to Brisbane in late 1999 and started work at Samford Valley Medical Centre where she initially worked as a general GP. Carol developed her special interest in mental health counselling from 2003 and has worked exclusively in this capacity for almost 10 years. Carol has training in Solution Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness - based Acceptance Commitment Therapy which she uses to work with clients with a wide range of issued including anxiety, depression, relationships issues, trauma, domestic violence, grief and loss, addictions, weight loss and parenting. She is comfortable working with a wide range of ages from children to adults. Her interests include travelling the world and perpetual study. She recently graduated from QUT with a law degree which she hopes to put to good use. Clients may be self-referred or referred from other GP's and she is able to initiate treatment under a Mental Health Care Plan if necessary. Carol is committed to free access for all to high quality health care without significant financial burden.
