Our surgeon, Dr Brad Johnson FRANZCO MBBS (Hons), BMedSci (Hons), is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology. Dr Johnson graduated with honours from medical school in 2001 and undertook his specialist ophthalmology training in Western Australia until 2008. In 2009, he was offered a Medical Retina Fellowship at the prestigious 200 year-old Bristol Eye Hospital. There he worked alongside world-renowned retinal specialists, Professor Andrew Dick FRCOphth and Dr Clare Bailey FRCOphth. During his retinal fellowship, Dr Johnson gained cutting-edge experience in retinal diseases such as:
Age-related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) Retinal Vascular Disease (such as retinal vein occlusions) Diabetic retinopathy. In late 2011 Dr Johnson opened Northern Eye Surgeons in the northern suburbs of Perth. He also regularly travels to Albany to provide the Great Southern region with medical retinal services.
Dr Johnson is a retinal specialist for macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy. His surgical speciality is in cataract and pterygium surgery.
