Dr Thura gained his medical degree in 2001 in Myanmar (Burma). He completed his medical residency in the UK before migrating to Australia in 2006. He has had extensive training in different hospitals in Queensland including, Gold Coast Hospital and Rockhampton Hospital before joining the GP training program.
Dr Thura is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as well as having a Diploma in Dermatology and a Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Therapeutics. He is continually updating his qualifications in skin cancer management.
He speaks English as well as his native tongue, Burmese.
Dr Thura believes that a good family doctor is crucial for providing individualised, continuing, comprehensive and coordinated “whole person” health care.
