Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Staff Specialist, Women’s and Children’s Hospital, North Adelaide

I completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Health Science at Adelaide University before graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Flinders University in 2007. During both my undergraduate and medical training, I was always fascinated by pregnancy and women’s health and so undertaking specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was the natural next step. During my basic training, I worked at Flinders Medical Centre, The Women’s and Children’s Hospital and The Royal Darwin Hospital. My advanced training years focused on the care of women with high risk medical conditions in pregnancy and advanced laparoscopy including total laparoscopic hysterectomy and the complete excision of endometriosis. I was granted my fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in February 2017.

I am passionate about caring for young girls and teenagers and so in 2017-2018, I undertook further specialist training in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology at The Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Sydney. I then spent 2 months at The University College Hospital London in the specialised paediatric and adolescent gynaecology service gaining greater exposure to rare conditions affecting young girls and teenagers.

I am a staff specialist at The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, allowing me to continue caring for women with high risk pregnancies and working to improve the services provided to young girls and adolescents with gynaecological issues. I enjoy teaching and fostering the next generation of obstetrics and gynaecology trainees and medical students.

My special interests include:

  • General and high risk obstetrics
  • Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology
  • Pre-pregnancy planning, miscarriage and subfertility investigation
  • Pelvic pain and endometriosis surgery
  • Advanced laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive hysterectomy
  • Abnormal bleeding, PCOS, ovarian cyst management
  • Abnormal cervical screening and colposcopy
  • Menopause and mature women’s health

I understand the importance of having a trusted and skilled doctor, making you feel completely at ease and supported during the best or hardest times of your life. I could not imagine having a more rewarding career and would consider myself extremely privileged to be your doctor.
