Graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1984 and did basic physician training and Cardiology advance training at the Austin Hospital. He did a fellowship in Echocardiography at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK to complete his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1992. Since that time, he has been a Cardiologist working predominantly in Echocardiography at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Epworth Hospital and since 1997 at Box Hill Hospital. His particular interests are in the assessment of cardiac valve disease and new ultrasound modalities to assess left ventricular function.
