Dr Anthony Coorey is a Brisbane trained medical graduate who completed his FANZCA in 2001. During his training he was awarded both the Douglas Renton and Cecil Grey prizes for the highest marks in the Fellowship’s examinations.

Dr Coorey commenced in private practice in 2001 and has been working in a full time capacity at Narcosia ever since. His special interests are anaesthesia for robotic surgery, daycase surgery, exercise physiology and medical education.

Professionally he has served terms as honorary treasurer of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) Qld division and national healthcare industry liaison officer for the ASA and ANZCA. Dr Coorey has convened two National Scientific Congresses for the ASA and has sat on the Anaesthetic Advisory Committee at Greenslopes Private Hospital and the Anaesthetic and Medical Advisory Committees at the Mater Private Hospital. He has chaired the Quality Assurance Committee within the Narcosia Anaesthetic Group.

Dr Coorey is currently a final fellowship examiner the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

His interests outside of anaesthesia are golf, horse racing and his family.
