Dr Anthony Camuglia is an interventional cardiologist who joined GenesisCare in 2014 after returning from Canada where he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at London Health Sciences Centre, University of Western Ontario, Canada.
He performs coronary procedures predominately by the radial artery approach and is experienced in acute and elective coronary interventions. He is also experienced in structural heart disease interventions including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR/TAVI).
Prior to his interventional training Dr Camuglia graduated medical school with first class honours from Monash University, Melbourne and subsequently underwent post-graduate internal medicine training at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and then advanced cardiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane and The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane.
Dr Camuglia has multiple articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has also presented research findings at national and international cardiac meetings and remains involved in clinical research.
Dr Camuglia consults primarily at Mater Private Clinic, Brisbane, and visits Rockhampton where he provides a consulting service.
Dr Camuglia is a Staff Specialist at Princess Alexandra Hospital where he is a part of the acute angioplasty service for the emergency treatment of heart attacks in addition to being a member of the TAVR team.
He is a Senior Lecturer in Medicine with the University of Queensland and is involved in the training of medical students, junior doctors and trainee cardiologists.
