Dr. Anisha Pillay is an experienced General and Developmental Paediatrician. Anisha completed her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1993 before returning home to Melbourne where she completed her Paediatric training at Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in 2005.
Anisha enjoys seeing children of all ages. She often sees children with the more common place issues of asthma, feeding problems in infants and children, anxiety and other day to day concerns that parents may have.
In addition she regularly manages developmental issues in children. She sees children with a range of issues including early speech and language delay, motor problems, schooling issues, autism spectrum disorder, Aspergers Sydrome and ADHD. The initial assessment , coordination of services with allied health therapists, linkage with schools and on-going follow up of the child is part of her role as a General Paediatrician.
She has a special interest in continence issues in children and sees children with issues of day time wetting, night time bed-wetting, constipation and soiling /encopresis. She works one day a week at RCH in the Department of General Medicine in the Continence Clinic. Anisha is one of three specialist Paediatricians working in The Continence Clinic. She has worked there for the last 9 years.
Anisha also works one day a week at the Children’s Cancer Clinic at Monash Medical Centre. There she works as part of a multi-disciplinary team that sees children with cancer and haematological conditions as well as looking after their broader health issues. She also works at a General Practice as a visiting Specialist monthly.
Anisha has three children all at school and enjoys spending much of her spare time with her family and their various activities including ballet, basketball, swimming and football! She loves cooking, travel, catching up with friends and spending free time at the beach with her family.
