Dr Angela Chien is a general practitioner who is passionate about the important role of the family doctor. After graduating from Melbourne University in 1998, she received further training in paediatrics, obstetrics and internal medicine, before obtaining fellowship in general practice and has been practicing in Balwyn since 2005. She has been a reviewer of the Australian Family Physician journal, as well as examiner for the Australian College of General Practitioners. She believes in patient centred approach and empowers her patients by helping them to understand their conditions and assisting them to make decisions about their healthcare with information from evidence based recommendations. She is an accredited shared antenatal care provider, and her other special interests are preventive health including immunisations, chronic illness such as arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular health and women’s health. She is also fluent in Mandarin.
